Amanda Kerr

My name is Amanda. I am a New Zealand trained registered nurse with 22 years of adult and paediatric Emergency Department experience.  I hold a Masters Degree in Nursing Science from Victoria University and I have completed additional post-graduate training in Adult Education.  I have extensive resuscitation training experience with 15 years of teaching Basic and Advanced Life Support across the country. I am a New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) qualified Core and Newborn Life Support instructor and instruct on both the ALERT and Paediatric Life Support (PLS) Courses.  I am the secretary for the Core Instructors of New Zealand (CINZ) for the New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC).  

Roles I have held include the Associate Director of Nursing for both Capital and Coast and Hutt DHBs and a Resuscitation Officer for the Hutt Valley DHB.  I am very passionate about resuscitation and resuscitation teaching. 

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and very energetic border collie lab cross, I love to cook and entertain friends with my latest culinary inventions as well as walking the majority of the tracks around the beautiful Wellington region.

Dr Nicholas Reid

MB ChB FRACP

Hi my name is Nick. I am a Consultant Paediatrician with interests in paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine, resuscitation teaching and physician training. I received my medical degree from Otago University in 2006 and am a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. I work at Hutt Hospital and provide acute and outpatient care for both paediatric and neonatal patients. I am the director of paediatrician training in our training site and am an experienced Acute Paediatric Life Support (APLS) instructor and Neonatal Life Support (NLS) instructor and have completed both the Australasian GIC and the NZRC NLS instructor courses alongside additional training in simulation-based teaching. 

When not teaching or consulting I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, eating good food, making music and experiencing the fantastic mountain biking that Wellington has to offer.

Katrina Coleman

Ko wai au? (who am I?)

My name is Katrina Coleman. I am a New Zealand-trained Registered Nurse with over 15 years of diverse nursing experience. My nursing practice has included Acute Mental Health Care, Primary Health care, Emergency Care, Public Health, and for the past seven years, working for Plunket as a National Educator in their Postgraduate Nursing Programme.

I hold a General Master of Nursing Qualification and I am a current Doctoral candidate at Auckland University of Technology.

 I am passionate about facilitating adult education that is informative and inspiring. I love learning from your practice experiences and encouraging your practice innovations. I live on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast with my husband, two beautiful girls and crazy dalmatian.
